New letters are bold

Thank you very much for The Golden Alphabet.  I am 35 years old and pastor of the Evangelical Reformed Church in St. Petersburg.  Your books help me in the ministry.  I study J.C. Ryle's commentaries on the Gospels for my sermons.  Sometimes I quote Ryle and C.H. Spurgeon who help me stand firm in the Reformed Faith...We send some of your books to a church in Rostovsky, Russia, who need them badly.
--Pastor Fokin Maxim, St. Petersburg, Russia

I like Ryle's Expository Thoughts very much.  I often use them in sermon preparation.  They help us to understand the right interpretation better.
--Pastor Shilnikov Sergei, Labytnangi, Russia

I use your books for sermon preparation and also give them to church members to read.  The book by J.I. Packer, Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God, is very thought provoking.  In the past I was a convinced Arminian, but now I believe in God's election and man's responsibility.
--Pastor Maximov Sergei, Kursk, Russia

In our church we have Bible studies on Wednesday and Friday, and almost always use Ryle's commentaries.  We have now reached his Expository Thoughts on the Gospel of Luke.
--Koblev Valid, Psebe, Russia

Dear brothers and sisters,

Christian greetings from Fergana, Uzbekistan.

We are very grateful for your work and your responsive heart in responding to our request. We have a hard time expressing sufficient gratitude for the literature, which you send us. We wanted to let you know that we have just received two more packages with the following books: “Bible Guidelines” by Derrick Prime, “The Narrow Way” by William Nichols, and “Expository thoughts on Luke” Vol. 2 by JC Ryle.  We are not the only ones who read these books, as we pass them around for others to read too. Be assured that these books will not just standing on a shelf collecting dust.  Many pastors, teachers and others in our area will read your wonderful books with much pleasure.  We look forward to receiving the remainder of the Ryle books and others too as the Lord bless you.

It is our prayer that all regions of Uzbekistan would wake up from the death spiritual sleep. In our church about 30% of members are former Muslims, which now confess Jesus Christ as their Lord.  We are pleased to report that your books have been instrumental in the salvation and spiritual growth as they begin to better understand the Word of God.

 Fergana, Uzbekistan

Here are some phrases from the letter of Ruchenia Nina, an old handicapped lady living in a village.

“We had quite a number of believers a long time ago but they were sent to Siberia. So now we have no brethren in our local village church. All we have is just few brothers coming once every two months so that we could have Lord’s supper. There are only 8 sisters in our church. So we sense a spiritual hunger very strongly here. I take a great comfort in listening to Christian radio, and I am happy that there appeared more programs in recent years. I am very much grateful for the literature that you sent. We are thankful to God that there are people like you who do this ministry. Not only that this books are needful to help our nation to recover spiritually but they are necessary to uphold the believers in faith. So we found Expository thoughts on Matthew to be a very profitable book in this sense: since we have no one to preach we read this book at our service instead. Pray that the faith in our village will grow and that we might still be a salt to people around us”.

Peklichi village in Minsk region, Belarus.

Thank you brothers and sisters for the books that you sent. I consider them a great blessing for me in the process of preparing the sermons. I like Spurgeon sermons a lot. They are very well translated. After every sermon I was lifted up in emotions and I could go and share what I learned and felt in preaching to sisters in my congregation. Unfortunately I am the only brother in the church now but I hope God will provide a young and energetic helper for me.

I find Expository thoughts by JC Ryle very interesting and useful. We have a prayer meeting on Mondays and we meet at one of our sister’s place. And so I use this book there: I don’t need to think hard what passage to choose – I just go through Ryle’s Matthew passage by passage starting with the First chapter.

The Journey in Spirit book helped me and my sisters to clarify the issue of speaking in tongs. The thing is that in our little town there is a charismatic church. So they do speak in tongs and cast demons out from one another. Three sisters from that church started visiting us and asking questions about tongs. One of them for a while visited us for sermons and going to pray to the charismatic church but now she is 100% with us.

I also try to organize a street library. Once a week I am going in a certain place in the center of our town for a couple of hours and set my table there. I am rather young – 30 years – so I am thinking about the ways to work with youth too. There are 10 people in our church and only half of them are active. But I am trying to encourage everybody to serve the Lord actively.

So I just shared my experience in my ministry and I think that you have your part in ministry and I have mine. And just as all plants starting from little grass to big trees do what God ordained them to do – they saw the seed according to their kind, – so is with us – you and us are serving God with the ministry that he gave us.

I am so very grateful for the book by J.I. Packer – God’s Words. It is a very remarkable book. I enjoyed it, it is a simple and understandable reading. I am finishing my studies this year and I wanted to receive and read the following books: “A journey in the Spirit” and “Narrow way”. May God bless you richly in your labors.

  Dekteruk Oksana,Pesochin, Harkov region, Ukrain.

Thank you very much for your reply and sending me the Bible Study Guide by Prime. This book can really be a priceless helper for every Christian. Than you also for Walter Chantry’s Today’s Gospel. God put it right on your hearts to send it because at this point of life I really needed to study this question. So you and the author of the book helped me greatly. I can really see that you are sensitive to God’s guidance. I thank God for all of you and may he bless you.

  Nelly Brott,  Shira, Hakasia, Russia.

I have just finished reading “12 Sermons on the Holy Spirit” by Spurgeon, and found it very beneficial as I study Word of God and follow it in my daily life. I have no words to express the feeling of gratitude for the amazing books, which we continue to receive from you.  There is a long line in our church, as we wait patiently for our turn to read your books.
  Ezepenkova, Bedenevka, Belarus

Being a student of a Bible College, I always refer to your books, like “Stepping Stones” by Peter Jeffery & “Questions on the Christian Faith” by Derek Prime. They help me greatly as I seek out the answers to the many questions I have.
  Bessonov, Mogilev, Belarus

I’ve read “A Journey in Grace” by Belcher with great interest and have checked out all the verses and compared them with the Bible. After much study, I have made many doctrinal adjustments and have found myself very excited with these new discoveries that it is NOT man who chooses God but God who has chosen man. I would desire that everyone might understand these wonderful truths, but it is such a pity that most of our churches are not tolerant of these wonderful and exciting teachings.
Kchromchenko, Zodino, Belarus

My husband was an unbeliever and did not want to go to church. After 2 years of reading your books together along with the Bible, has now repented and professes faith in Christ. What a joy God has sent to our house.  I thank my God for his grace and also for your books.
Zamanova, Moldova

Our church prays for your ministry often.  All in our church have read your books and we have grown in faith through them.
Osipova, Novokuznezk, Russia

I am a young pastor of a new church and without your books I would have no structure in my preaching. In our small city there are no Christian libraries or missionaries. Our church library consists only from the books you have sent to us.
Valkov, Kargasok, Russia

In my prison ministry, I simply read your books to the prisoners. There is very little need for further explanation since everything is so clearly explained.
Tanko, Vilnus, Lithuania

For me, to preach the Gospel to the Russians is heaven on earth. I have preached the Gospel to men of many nations, but I have never seen a people drink in the Gospel like the Russians. They have such thirsty souls.
A friend of mine telephoned me and told me that a Russian officer had come to him to confess. My friend did not know Russian. Knowing however that I speak Russian, he had given him my address. The next day this man came to me. He loved God, he longed after God, but he had never seen a Bible. He never attended religious services (churches in Russia are very scarce). He had no religious education. He loved God without the slightest knowledge of Him.
I read to him the Sermon on the Mount and the parables of Jesus. After hearing them, he danced around the room in rapturous joy proclaiming, what a wonderful beauty.  “How could I live without knowing this Christ” It was the first time that I saw someone so rapturously joyful in Christ.
Then I made a mistake. I read to him the passion and crucifixion of Christ, without having prepared him for this. He had not expected it and, when he heard how Christ was beaten, how He was crucified and that in the end He died, he fell in an armchair and began to weep bitterly. He had believed in a Savior and now his Savior was dead
I looked at him and was ashamed that I had called myself a Christian and a pastor, a teacher of others. I had never shared the sufferings of Christ as this Russian officer now shared them. Looking at him, it was for me as seeing again Mary Magdalene weeping at the foot of the cross; faithfully weeping when Jesus was a corpse in the tomb.
Then I read to him the story of the resurrection.  He had not known his Savior arose from the tomb. When he heard this wonderful news, he beat his knees and swore a very dirty, but, I think, a very “holy” swear. This was his crude manner of speech. Again he rejoiced. He shouted for joy: “He is alive! He is alive!” Again he danced around the room, overwhelmed with happiness!
I said to him, “Let us pray!” He did not know prayers. He did not know our holy phases. He fell on his knees together with me and his words of prayers were: “O God, what a fine chap you are! If I were You and You were me, I would never have forgiven You your sins. But You are really a very nice chap! I love You from all my heart.
I think that all the angels in heaven stopped what they were doing to listen to this sublime prayer from a Russian officer. The man had been won for Christ!
Pastor Wurmbrand, Rumania

Please receive my gratitude for Belcher’s book “A Journey in Purity”. God Himself prompted you to send this book to us at the time, when our pastor has just decided to examine the membership roll of our church. Your book has helped us so that we will not error and we can be found faithful to His word the Bible.
Schilin, Krichev, Belarus

Words cannot express my gratitude to our Lord and to you for the books that you have sent to us, which are so precious. We have been using your book “The Baptist Shorter Catechism” for teaching unbelievers who attend our church, “Stepping Stones” is just great for new converts, “Bible Guidelines” is used greatly by our Pastor in his sermon preparation.
Kan, Tashkent, Uzbekistan

Our church is young and our people are mostly all unchurched. We believe in God and love Him dearly, but it is not easy to go to the deep waters of truth without guidance. Your books are such a guide for us. The influence of the Russian Orthodox Church is great, as they tell all kinds of nonsense about our churches. Your books help us not only love our Lord more, but also to be able to more correctly teach our people and witness to others.
NijneDudinsk Baptist Church, Siberia

We thank you for the books that you have sent to us. People in our church are waiting in a long queue to read your books by Belcher. Could you please send us 2-3 more books for our library, so that our people will not have to wait so long.
Schtim, Stepovoe, Ukraine

What a book “The Bible on the Life Hereafter” is! I found answers for my questions on which I have wondered about for many years. Now I will be able to help other people to understand the Bible more accurately.
Ignatenko, Blagoveshensk, Russia

All of the books that I have received from you are a great help to me as I prepare to preach of the Word of God. It is so good to have your books in our little village.   We appreciate so much “The 12 Sermons by Spurgeon”, which I read together with my wife before we go to bed.
Pastor Ignatushko, Svetlogorsk, Belarus

I have a question. We read in your book that in XVII century puritans accepted three Confessions of faith: Westminster, Savoy and 1689. These three all agreed on the main question of salvation. Why then our modern Baptists gone to after Arminianism and Plagiarism. Why do they refuse to follow the truth?...
Pastor Igor Zadorozny,  Odessa, Ukraine

Thanks a lot for literature that you sent to us (“The Terrors of Hell”, “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”, “What is a Biblical Christian?”, “Today's Gospel”). We still have a ministry in 15 villages, so we badly need literature. Mostly we need “Sinners in the Hands” &”The Terrors of Hell”. People are drowning in alcohol here. Vargan, Magnitogorsk, Russia

Thanks a lot for such books as “Christian Handbook,” “Today's Gospel”, “The Baptist Shorter Catechism”. We have no brethren in our fellowship, so we gather together to pray and read your books aloud and this is the only way to learn the truth.
Trapeznikova, Petropavlovsk, Russia

We so badly need tracts “The Terrors of Hell”. People are dying in alcoholism, maybe such serious thoughts may stop them. The very impressive booklet indeed. Bucharov, Nagan, Russia (Siberia)

Thank you so much for “The Christian Handbook”. I am alone, all my relatives have died, but I do not grieve my fate, but work for the Lord now. Your literature helps to work with believers and none believers alike.
Maryi, Zaporozie, Ukraine

Thanks a lot for “The Christian Handbook” and “The Baptist Shorter Catechism”. We have no such Christian literature in Russian at all. Your literature helps us greatly.
Malov, Estonia,

I am a missionary. Such books as “The Terrors of Hell”, “What is a Biblical Christian?”, “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” etc. were written so well and everything is clear and easy to understand. People usually begin to think about their souls after reading your books.
Sobchuk, Brest region, Belarus

Thank you so much for “The Christian Handbook.” I have read it with great interest. Great job! So many easy-to-understand thoughts are expressed here. Everything including the teaching of predestination and election is explained from the point of view of the Bible.
Eichman, Bashkiria

If you can, please send us 30 copies of “The Terrors of Hell”, we young believers use them in front of a local vine shop in our evangelist work. Kosheeva, Ozersk, Siberiachurch is very young and we need to grow in teaching. Could you please send us 30 copies of “The Baptist Shorter Catechism”
Mospanova, Rostov region, Russia

I do praise our Lord, for your great labor on God's field - Christian education. Times have changed and we may find a lot of books (not as many as we need but more than some years ago), but your books are higher in level to compare with everything what are produced here. Your books contain only pure Bible teaching in them. All of our members read your books and then later we discuss them in the church.
Loichenko, Varva, Ukraine

I beg you to send 10 copies of “Christian Handbook” for our church library. I have been working in the Christian library for period more than 10 years, but never have I seen a book with such simple and easy to understand explanation of the doctrine of Protestant church. Great work!!!
Leshenko, Volgodonsk, Russia

Please send our church (30 members) “The Christian Handbook” & “The Shorter Catechism”. We are far from any city or town. In the village next to us there is a Russian Orthodox Church. They have books, but they are not so good.
Gologudskaja, Ivdel, Russia

I pray for every one who is involved in this blessed project. We have no possibility to buy literature, but from you we are receiving books free. God is so Great in that He has provided you with such a wonderful ministry.
Parfenuk, Kobrin, Belarus

Our mission is working with orphans between 13-16 years old. “The Christian Handbook”  seems to have been written especially for them.
Michailichenko, Avdeevka, Ukraine

What a present! I feel God's blessing passing to me as I read your books.

Kolesnochenko, Saratov, Russia

I am a pastor in a small church. I have read again & again “Today's Gospel” and confess that I made so many mistakes in earlier times.
Vasiliev, Dnestrovsk, Moldova

I am in a prison for crime. There were some believers who gave me “Terrors of Hell”. It has stuck me with a fear like I have never had before and I can not get this out of mind. Something happened to me.
Goncharov, Krasnodar, Russia

The pastor of Baptist church in Tiraspol City replies to you with the following lines. We experience a great need for the literature that you distribute. We have certain difficulties with Christian literature in Russian because of a great number of Catholic books in Romanian. I would like to ask you to send us 10 copies of “The Christian Handbook” for our library and 20 copies of “The Catechism” for the education of our young people.
N.F. Vinnikov, Moldova.

The Church of Christ requests the following books for its library: 10 copies of “The Christian Handbook”, 5 copies of “Stepping Stones”, 5 copies of “Today’s Gospel”. We consider that it is necessary for us to have them, because they contain only the pure Bible truths.
Minsk Church of Christ, Belarus

I received “Today’s Gospel”. It was a pleasure to know that contemporary beliefs and practices haven’t flooded everyone yet and that there are some churches and writers who have clear understanding of the Bible. May God bless all who work and sacrifice for the needs of publishing of such a necessary books.
L. Utyuzsh, Ukraine

We are very happy to receive your book parcels and we are grateful to the Lord for your labor. We pray for you often and are especially thankful for the “Bible on the Life Hereafter”, because there is not much written on this subject.
A. Chub, Ukraine

Thank you for helping my church through your books. Missionaries visit big towns and sell books there and we in the small villages have nothing but what you have sent. If it is possible, please send us two more copies of each book. Some of your books, because of much use, have become shabby and the pages are beginning to falling out.
U. Nesterov, Novlia village, Russia

My son receives many very good Christian books from you. I was especially interested in “Terrors of Hell” and “Coming to Faith in Christ” booklets. I work as a missionary in Molodechno area and I ask you to send me more of these booklets. P.S. from the editor: Both of these booklets are out of print and no longer available due to lack of funds.
E. Karchmit, Molodechno town, Belarus

We are thankful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ because He has those devoted and faithful laborers in His field. We need your literature here, because the Bible truths are not distorted in it.
O. Kolesnik, Russia, Siberia

Setting my hopes on God and on your kind participation, I ask you to send me two more copies of “Today’s Gospel”, “The Christian Handbook” and “Stepping Stones” for our church library and for me personally. As for the books I received before, I gave them to our newly converted brother and sister in Christ.
A. Novikov, Russia

I can sense the presence of the Holy Spirit in your books. I have studied them myself  and now I can pass them on to my friends and relatives. I especially insist that they (unbelievers) would read “The Narrow Way”.
V. Michalev, Kazakhstan

Both young and old people in our church find it very enjoyable to study the Bible with the help of “Stepping Stones” and the history of the evangelical faith with the help of “The Christian Handbook”. Many people are blessed and edified from reading your books. Please send us another five copies of “The Christian Handbook” and ten copies of “The Shorter Catechism”.
A. Morokov, Kazakhstan

We are grateful to all the laborers in this ministry. We are happy with each single post that we receive from you. We study from your books in our church – this is so very helpful for us.  If you can, please send us twenty copies of “The Shorter Catechism” for those who had recently been converted and joined the church.
A. Liashok, Russia, Sakhalin

Praise the Lord that His word is being proclaimed throughout this nation through your books. I think every Christian should have the “The Christian Handbook” and “The Bible on the Life Hereafter.” My wife and I are waiting patiently for the next post from you. We love your books! Nothing superfluous in them, every line edifies. It is so important in these latter time, when many have shifted from the narrow way of salvation to the wide road that leads to death.
V. Melnick, Ukraine

I want to express my thanks to all those who have helped to make these books available to us free of charge and also to those who worked so faithfully translating them.  May our Lord bless you all in this labor, and let His name be praised in your homes and in your churches.
S. Kulgavaia, Belarus.
